Ciao, Anyone has experience with the i3 REX in zona ZTL. Electric vechicles are permited in ZTL in Firenze but I still got a fine. Appealed today but I wonder if the problem can be that they do not consider REX a true electric because it has a motor. Event if it is not used 99% of time. What is your experience.

ti scrivo in italiano, tanto potrai tradurre con un traduttore automatico: in molte città d'Italia, il REX rende l'auto considerata come ibrida per cui in molto città d'Italia non si può più entrare, come per esempio Reggio Emilia.
A Firenze non è chiaro come venga considerata, chi possa entrare e chi no: ho trovato questo links ma non dice nulla > http://servizi.comune.fi.it/servizi/scheda-servizio/ztl

Ok we will see REX is not a hybrid as Prius or any other plugin hybrid that has ICE giving propulsion to the car. It does have gas generator on board that can provide charge but the engine of a car is exclusively electric. Now explaining that to the clerk in the comune di firenze is a challenge

BMW can release a declaration stating that your car is full electric. You may want to contact user i3super or directly BMW.

Ed ecco la risposta ufficiale dell'ufficio ZTL di Firenze:

Buongiorno, la circolazione gratuita in ZTL è solo per le auto immatricolate a trazione esclusivamente elettrica ( come da carta di circolazione ). No ibride, che ricadono nelle casistiche previste, eventualmente, in analogia a quelle a trazione termica.

Then i3 Rex should be ok as the traction is exclusively electric. the on board generator has no whatsoever connection to the wheels. We will see I impatiently wait for the response of the fine appeal
